Povești Moldovenești
Moldova
2024, 1h 44m
Directors: Vlad Bolgarin, Evgheni Dudceac, Natalia Shaufert
Cast: Jan Cucuruzac, Andrei Porubin, Ion Jitari
A cinematic adventure that brings together five different stories, each offering a unique perspective on daily life in Moldova. From the fantastical travels of an old man with his magical toilet in the Billion, to the tension created by the meeting of old traditions and the new eating habits of Mother Nature, each film presents a foray into the culture, humor and moral dilemmas of the characters. What do you say? explores the tensions generated by a strange hitchhiker, while The Poor Man and the Cat Whore delivers a satirical tale of greed and self-deception. In Place Under the Sun, a father and his son fight for survival in a 2000s Moldovan market, offering a deeply moving look at determination and hope.
All films at CEFF are presented in their original language with English subtitles.
Showing: Sunday, November 3 at 6:00 PM
