About La Pirogue
Thirty passengers. One pirogue. An uncertain horizon.
Baye Laye is the captain of a fishing pirogue and knows the sea. Though he does not want to leave, he must lead thirty men from Senegal toward Spain via the Canary Islands. Not everyone understands one another, some have never seen the sea, and no one knows what awaits them.
The crossing becomes an intimate portrait of hope, fear, solidarity and survival inside the confined space of the boat.
