There is always tomorrow. Until everything changes.
A gifted violin maker who has spent years postponing his own dreams discovers that life cannot always wait for the perfect moment.
Josef is a successful master violin maker whose instruments bring joy to people around the world. Yet his own life is quietly contained within the courtyard of his apartment building, where he works alongside his faithful dog, Pampeliška. He has never been to the sea; instead, he carefully preserves a small puddle so that the neighbourhood birds have somewhere to drink.
Wednesday chess games with his best friend Václav are a treasured routine. So is his unspoken affection for his neighbour Anežka. In his workshop, Josef keeps his finest piece of wood for a masterpiece he promises himself he will make one day. But when life changes without warning, he begins to reconsider all the things he has left for later—and finds the courage to pursue them with the help of his friends.
From the director and producer behind Women on the Run.
Sometimes a lifetime feels like forever.
Josef has never seen the ocean. His own little sea is a puddle in the courtyard, a tiny part of the world he tends with quiet devotion. It is a simple detail that captures the heart of his story: the comfort of familiar routines, and the belief that there will always be more time.
When the future suddenly feels less certain, the things Josef has put off begin to take on new meaning. Sea of Hope explores this realization with warmth and gentle humour, asking what happens when a man who has spent years waiting finally decides to begin.

The finest violin he has yet to make.
Josef has dedicated his life to creating beautiful instruments for other people. His workshop is a place of care, patience and precision, where each piece of wood holds the possibility of something extraordinary.
But one piece remains untouched. It is the finest wood he owns, set aside for the violin he hopes will become his masterpiece. Despite years of experience, Josef has never felt quite ready to use it.
That unfinished instrument reflects everything else he has postponed. As life changes, he must decide whether he is still waiting to become ready—or whether his moment has already arrived.
Some things are worth taking a chance on.
The most important possibilities in Josef's life may be closer than he thinks.
His friendship with Václav offers laughter, companionship and the familiar ritual of Wednesday chess. Their contrasting personalities bring warmth to the story, while their friendship becomes an important source of support.
Then there is Anežka, the neighbour Josef has quietly loved for years. As he begins to reconsider his future, the possibility of finally speaking from the heart becomes as meaningful as anything he might create in his workshop.
